For fourteen years, I have served as a professor, administrator, and educator in institutions that follow the American model of higher education. Since 2004, my work has focused on cultivating a sustainable research portfolio and a rich teaching repertoire, while contributing actively in service. Currently, I am an Associate Professor of Computer Engineering at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department (ECE), at the American University of Kuwait (AUK). Between 2009 and 2016, I served as the Founding Chairperson/Program Lead of the ECE Department. AUK is a private institution that partners with Dartmouth College in the USA. Dartmouth and AUK have worked closely together since 2003 under a Memorandum of Understanding that facilitated advisory, consultative, and cooperative projects.
Between 2006 and 2009, I was both Chairperson and Assistant Professor in the ECE Department at the College of Engineering, Dhofar University (DU) in Oman, which was an American University of Beirut (AUB) partnership. The role of AUB covered three functions, namely, the management of DU; design of academic programs, bylaws and procedures; and monitoring quality assurance.
My arrival to DU came after spending two years in Lebanon as a lecturer at AUB, Lebanese American University (LAU), Beirut Arab University (BAU), and Rafic Hariri University (RHU).
In August 2004, I completed my Ph.D. degree at London South Bank University (LSBU), London, United Kingdom. At LSBU, I was a member of the Institute for Computing Research.
At present, I'm an ABET, Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC), Program Evaluator (PEV). In addition, I'm a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE) and the Founding Counselor of the AUK IEEE Student Branch. I'm also a member of the American Society of Engineering Education (MASEE) and the Order of Engineers and Architects of Beirut. In May 2014, I won the Faculty Mentorship Award at AUK.

My main undergraduate and postgraduate teaching track includes hardware/software co-design, embedded systems design, microprocessors and interfacing, computer organization and architecture, and digital logic design.
